Machine Shop Foreman - Job Description

"Our client, a leading Machine Shop in Western Canada, requires a Machine Shop Foreman to lead a team of 20+ machine shop staff in a state-of-the-art custom-built machinery and custom machine shop."


  • 10 years leadership experience as a Foreman in a Jobber shop environment

  • Experience working with Manual lathe, milling machines, surface grinders

  • Mechanically creative in building components and parts

  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing, metallurgy and welding

  • Knowledgeable in CNC and AutoCAD

  • Excellent People Skills

  • Strong communicator


As Machine Shop Foreman leading 20+ skilled team members your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating effectively with team members including management, accounting, sales, service, purchasing, shipping/receiving, suppliers & customers

  • Job quotation - participating in job quotation process & development

  • Reviewing, prioritizing, scheduling & monitoring job projects to ensure completion is cost-effective, timely and meets customer satisfaction

  • Inventory management - ensuring parts, supplies & materials required for job completion are in inventory and/or ordered

  • Scheduling, organizing & prioritizing job projects for Day & Evening shifts

  • Documentation - ensuring paper work/information for each job is completed with accuracy

  • Providing hands-on assistance and guidance to machine, inspect, repair or fabricate project work as required

  • Troubleshooting & problem-solving job project issues

  • Training, mentoring and monitoring new shop floor employees as required

  • Quality Control - performing inspections throughout the life cycle of the job project process

  • Work-Place & Safety - ensuring adherence to company policies, safety regulations & practices

  • Participating with the team to provide On Call 24/7 services to customers

  • Assisting the team in growing the customer base

Our client, a leading international manufacturer, requires an Application Developer with API experience. This unique full-time position involves developing, managing and delivering software development projects. Position is based in Winnipeg, MB

Candidate requirements:


  • Computer Science degree/diploma

  • 5+ years programming experience

  • 3 years API experience

  • Experience with SDLC and managing application development

  • Excellent English communication skills


  • Defining business requirements, designing, developing, deploying, and supporting application

  • Conducting project meetings with stake holders, project planning, tracking and project status reporting

  • Oversight and accountability for successful project delivery on time and budget

  • Sourcing, interviewing and selecting IT staff for projects as required.
